On November 21, we open our doors in Karlsruhe for a "Meet & Greet" with the Foundation's new director Dr. Cord Brügmann. In addition to insights into current projects, the after work event will offer the opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere.
From November 10 to 14, 2024, the Forum Recht Foundation, the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the City of Herne (Department of Integration/AI) invite the public to participate in action days focused on the topics of law and the rule of law at various locations in Herne. Through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, discussions, and roundtable talks, citizens can learn about current issues and engage in conversation with experts.
From November 2024, the Stiftung Forum Recht will be launching a new training format, which offers in-depth specialist insights on topics relating to the law and the rule of law. The first training courses in Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe/Bruchsal will focus on the prison system in Germany.
On the evening of October 9, the art installation „Fortuna. Futura. Libertas“ will be on display on the Innenstadtring in Leipzig as part of the Festival of Lights. Prior to the event, the four artists will speak at the Forum Recht Foundation about their work, for which they interviewed people in Leipzig about their dreams and ideas regarding democracy, justice, and freedom. A keynote address by attorney Brigitte Fuhrmann will complement the artists’ discussion.
Should reunified Germany have adopted a common constitution in 1990? The Forum Recht Foundation and the podcast radio station detektor.fm will discuss this question on September 4 and 5, 2024, with guests including former GDR Foreign Minister Markus Meckel and journalist Ilko-Sascha Kowalczuk.
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, young people and young adults came together with personalities from the judiciary, media and culture at the Young Constitutional Talks on Karlsruhe's market square. The topic of the open-air discussion: The future of the rule of law and democracy.
At its meeting on 26 April 2024, the Board of Trustees of the Forum Law Foundation, chaired by Bettina Limperg, President of the Federal Court of Justice, passed a resolution to make an offer to the lawyer, historian and association manager Dr. Cord Brügmann to take over the position of Director of the Foundation.
Starting Thursday, June 13, 2024, the Forum Recht Foundation will host a free monthly city tour through Karlsruhe focusing on the law. Both tourists and Karlsruhe residents can learn a lot of new things about the „Residence of the Law.“.
