Our materials are designed for schools, after-school educational institutions, and anyone interested in learning about law and democracy. The materials clearly explain basic legal concepts and encourage participants to see law as part of their everyday lives.

City of laws! DIY—A Do-It-Yourself City Tour
With „Recht stadtlich! DIY“ (DIY = Do It Yourself; meaning „Do it yourself!“), the Forum Recht Foundation helps engaged citizens better understand the law. Law isn’t just for courts and law firms—we encounter it every day: at the bus stop, at the drugstore, on the street. With „Recht stadtlich! DIY,“ you can become an advocate and build on that very experience. As a „tour guide,“ you’ll lead our city tour independently and help improve people’s understanding of the law and the rule of law in everyday life.
The tour script includes ten stops that can be found in nearly every city and town in Germany—no prior knowledge required, no effort involved, no problem. The interactive tour brings the law and the rule of law to life in an everyday context and invites people of all ages to see the world around them with fresh eyes. The concept builds on the tried-and-true city tours organized by the Forum Recht Foundation in Karlsruhe and Leipzig—and now brings this idea to you. Lesson Plan for the Pop-Up Exhibition „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life“
In this lesson, students are introduced to the topic of law and learn about its four functions. They come to understand the importance of law in conflict situations and are provided with resources to help them learn about their rights. The material was developed to accompany the pop-up exhibition „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life,“ but can be used independently of a visit to the exhibition.
Card Set: „Ask Away: It’s Your Right!“
„Does the law sometimes annoy you? Where are the limits of freedom of speech? Why do court proceedings take so long?“—The „Nachgefragt: Ihr gutes Recht!“ set includes a total of 75 question cards covering three topic areas, ranging from personal questions and everyday legal issues to specialized questions about the law and the rule of law. The card set can be used to spark conversations with legal experts (e.g., judges, attorneys, prosecutors, police officers, or lay judges). It serves as a conversation starter that is both entertaining and touches on various legal topics, and is particularly well-suited for groups. The card deck can be ordered free of charge.
Podcasts by the Forum Recht Foundation
With the podcasts „Justice, Baby! The Podcast on Law and Justice“ (2023), „In guter Verfassung? The Future of the Rule of Law“ (2024), we delved into legal contexts, engaged in conversations with fascinating guests, and brought surprising and inspiring stories to life. New is the live-on-tape podcast „Let’s Talk Law,‘ which has been running continuously since early 2025, a series of talks with the same name accompanied.
Website for the photo exhibition „Sprawiedliwość – Justice“
What happens when politicians try to undermine the rule of law? Piotr Wójcik’s portrait photographs of Polish judges, prosecutors, and attorneys who stood up against the erosion of the Polish rule of law make it clear: Preserving the rule of law always requires the commitment of individuals!
With the documentary photo exhibition „Sprawiedliwość – Justice,“ the Forum Recht Foundation presented these portraits for the first time in Germany from February 16 to April 7, 2024, in Karlsruhe and Leipzig. A website showcases some of the works and provides insights into the photographer’s work as well as the perspectives of Polish legal professionals.
"Law & Reality" Website
In 2023, the foundation invited followers to join a „Reality Check“ on Instagram through short posts. Taking major everyday social issues as our starting point, we explored the questions: How much legal substance is there to these issues, and what are the challenges in realizing legal claims? These are not simple questions, and there are no simple answers—and that’s exactly what „Law & Reality“ was all about.
