Personnel change at the top of the Forum Recht Foundation

Karlsruhe/Leipzig. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees approved a request from Claussen this week to terminate her contract as director of the institution early. A successor has not yet been named. Bettina Limperg, Chair of the Board of Trustees and President of the Federal Court of Justice, stated: „As the foundation’s founding director, Ms. Claussen has driven the organizational and programmatic development of the institution with great dedication, thereby laying the groundwork for the Forum Recht. She deserves our sincere thanks for this. We will begin looking for a suitable successor as soon as possible.“

Henrike Claussen took office in September 2020. Since 2021, the foundation’s team has been developing participatory, co-creative outreach formats—such as those in the „Jungen Forum Recht“—organizing events, and addressing current topics in the podcast „Justice, Baby!“, among other initiatives. Last week, the event and office space in Leipzig was officially opened. Until the permanent premises are completed, the foundation’s activities in the Saxon metropolis will be based there. In Karlsruhe, the foundation has been using its interim location in the immediate vicinity of the Federal Court of Justice since the end of 2021.

Henrike Claussen: „Building up Forum Recht is a task that is both challenging and rewarding; it is more important than ever in these times of declining trust in the rule of law, and I am pursuing it with the deepest conviction. Together with the foundation’s dedicated team, I will continue to devote my full energy to this work in the coming months until September 30. My decision to move on is primarily driven by personal reasons that are bringing me back to the Rhineland. I will be taking on new responsibilities there starting in October 2023.“
