Stiftung Forum Recht expands its services: Reaction to the report of the Federal Audit Office

Karlsruhe/Leipzig. At the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Forum Recht Foundation held in Berlin on April 28, 2023, the progress made to date in establishing the foundation, as well as the shortcomings identified in the report of the Federal Audit Office dated January 20, 2023, were discussed in detail. The Board of Trustees called on the Executive Board to address and rectify the identified issues without delay and to take further measures to secure and consolidate the foundation’s structure.

At the same time, it was decided to relocate the office of the Deputy Director responsible for personnel, finance, and construction to Leipzig in order to strengthen the city’s position. This also fulfills a corresponding mandate from the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag.

To increase its visibility, the foundation will expand its diverse program—even before its own buildings are constructed at both locations—both nationwide and in Karlsruhe and Leipzig. This includes strengthening collaborations with institutions in the fields of school education and civic education, as well as in culture and academia, and with legal stakeholders at the federal and state levels.

To enhance its legal expertise, the Foundation has agreed to engage in structured and intensive collaboration with its Scientific Advisory Board. In addition, the Foundation will ensure that its legal expertise continues to grow through its future job postings.
The Executive Board will report to the Board of Trustees on the implementation of all measures by July 30, 2023.
