Board of Trustees
The members of the Board of Trustees are appointed for five-year terms—corresponding to the legislative term of the federal government. Its composition is specified in the Forum Law Act (ForumRG) § 7 as stipulated on May 13, 2019. The Board of Trustees consists of eleven members of the Bundestag. The law stipulates that they are appointed by the parliamentary groups in proportion to their size. The Board of Trustees also includes: a member of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, a member of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building, and Homeland, one member each from the cities of Karlsruhe and Leipzig, as well as high-ranking legal experts and the chairperson of the Foundation Advisory Board.
