Court proceedings: Series of talks on the role of criminal trials
Karlsruhe/Leipzig/Braunschweig. The directing duo krügerXweiss, with their performance projects, The Process I–III focuses on key trials and their implications for the present day. The three productions are being presented for the first time in Braunschweig and use multimedia to explore the Eichmann trial, the Stammheim trial, and the Honecker trial. As a collaborating partner, the Forum Recht Foundation is supporting the project with an interdisciplinary series of discussions that explore the topics justice, public court cases, and the Role of the judiciary in social reappraisal processes discussed with experts.
The lecture series in the Red Hall in Braunschweig examines criminal trials from various perspectives and, over the course of three Sundays, features guests discussing what a criminal trial can achieve, how much public scrutiny is necessary, and how fair the legal system is. The invited guests are: Prof. Aziz Epik, Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Hamburg (March 12, 4:00 p.m.), Dr. Ronen Steinke, lawyer, journalist, and author (March 19, 4:00 p.m.), and Dr. Frank Bräutigam, ARD legal expert (March 26, 4:00 p.m.). Kathrin Schön, Head of Programs and Events at the Forum Recht Foundation, will moderate the discussion in Braunschweig on March 12. krügerXWeiss will moderate the sessions on March 19 and March 26.
