THE FORUM RECHT FOUNDATION COLLABORATES WITH THE MAGAZINE POLITIKUM
A joint publication by the magazine *Politikum* and the Forum Recht Foundation, titled „Tatort Rechtsstaat. Unser gutes Recht,“ will be released in late December. In nine articles, experts discuss current issues related to the rule of law.
Karlsruhe/Leipzig. What role does the rule of law play in addressing increasingly challenging issues of the future? This question is explored in the latest issue of the journal POLITIKUM, which was produced in collaboration with the Forum Recht Foundation. The collaboration was prompted by the „Rule of Law“ thematic focus of the current issue.
In nine articles, experts discuss key issues of the present and future and examine the role of the law in addressing them. Is justice a utopia in light of the crimes under international law being committed in Ukraine? Can mass migration be managed in a manner consistent with human rights? How do we address datafication as a challenge to the rule of law? And to what extent is civil disobedience a driving force behind the rule of law?
The aim of this issue is to examine the interplay between politics, law, and the rule of law. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of the rule of law, whose potential and limitations are becoming increasingly significant in light of growing societal challenges. The authors of the articles are experts from the judiciary, academia, and civil society, some of whom serve on the advisory board of the Forum Recht Foundation. In a concluding article, Henrike Claussen—Founding Director of the Forum Recht Foundation until September 2023—outlines the significance of promoting the rule of law today.
