The Forum Recht Foundation Presents the Pop-Up Exhibition „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life“ in Leipzig

The mobile pop-up exhibition „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life“ by the Forum Recht Foundation is making a stop in Leipzig as part of its tour through Germany. Located on Kurt-Masur-Platz in the city center, the interactive exhibition invites visitors to think critically and get involved from September 12 through October 12, 2025.

In Leipzig, the Forum Recht Foundation is presenting the Pop-up Exhibition: „Law – The Rules of Everyday Life“ In cooperation with the City of Leipzig and the Saxon State Ministry of Justice. After stops in Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, and Mönchengladbach, the exhibition is now on display in Leipzig for one month, where the Forum Recht Foundation has one of its two locations.

The exhibition opening will take place on Wednesday, September 17, at 4:30 p.m. at Kurt-Masur-Platz. The opening will feature Ulrich Hörning, Mayor and Deputy Mayor for General Administration of the City of Leipzig, Dr Cord Brügmann, Director of the Forum Recht Foundation, and Project Manager Charlotte Großmann introduce the exhibition with opening remarks.

Where do we encounter the law in our daily lives—and how does it affect our lives?
Whether you're renting an apartment, at work, on the road, or within your family: the law is everywhere. It guides and structures our daily lives together.

The Stiftung Forum Recht takes these everyday situations as its starting point „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life“ Complex legal topics are presented here in an accessible and interactive way. Visitors are expressly invited to participate: Using QR codes and a web app, they can record videos with their own smartphones and share their personal experiences. In this way, the exhibition continues to grow over time. Visitors also have the opportunity to explore the world of law in a playful way through a quiz and a spinning cube. „We’re very excited to be able to present the exhibition right in front of our temporary Leipzig location, between the cafeteria, MDR, and Moritzbastei,“ explains Charlotte Großmann, project manager for the exhibition at the Forum Recht Foundation.

Following the opening, the former Professional soccer player and sports journalist for the Leipziger Volkszeitung, Guido Schäfer will be a guest at „Forum Recht im Dialog. Insights with Cord Brügmann“ at 5:30 p.m. at the foundation’s offices. He will speak with the foundation’s director about the exhibition theme „Law—The Rules of Everyday Life“ and soccer. The rules of soccer and the laws of a constitutional state have quite a lot in common. Both are meant to ensure fairness—on the soccer field and in society.

The accompanying program for the exhibition: „Rightly So: In Demand”“t!"

As part of the exhibition's accompanying program, visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to participate on three dates on September 18 and 26, and October 1, at 5:00 p.m. each day the opportunity to participate in an open discussion format „And rightly so: In demand“t!" Strike up a conversation with a lawyer, a judge, or other legal professionals about the rules of everyday life—in a simple, down-to-earth way. Sets of cards available on-site, featuring personal, everyday, and professional questions, help get the conversation started.
