Statement on the Attack on Ukraine
Russia’s attack on Ukraine violates the law in many ways and is incompatible with our vision of how we want to live together. Like so many others, we are stunned and shocked by the dramatic situation currently unfolding in Eastern Europe. For the people on the ground, the consequences are catastrophic and unbearable. Our solidarity and sympathy go out to them!
The upholding of the law and the rule of law is the foundation for democratic and peaceful coexistence in the Federal Republic of Germany and around the world. Our foundation was established based on this conviction, and our work is grounded in it.
The rule of law—and in particular the freedoms and rights guaranteed by human rights—must be upheld. We therefore strongly stand behind all those who are working to ensure this in the current war situation.

Statement Regarding the Attack on Ukraine
The Russian attack on Ukraine is violating the law in many ways and is incompatible with our vision of society and how we want to live together. Like many others, we are stunned and shocked by the current dramatic situation in Eastern Europe. But for the local population in particular, the consequences are catastrophic and unbearable. Our solidarity and sympathy go out to them!
Compliance with the law and the rule of law is the foundation for democratic and peaceful coexistence, not only in the Federal Republic of Germany but also worldwide. This is the conviction that led to the creation of our foundation and that guides our work.
The law—and especially human rights, as well as the freedoms and rights they guarantee—must be upheld. We therefore stand with all those who are committed to this goal in the current war situation.
