"Tatort Rechtsstaat" - Our joint themed issue with Politikum
IN NINE ARTICLES, THE NEW ISSUE IS ALL ABOUT OUR GOOD LAW AND CORE ISSUES OF THE RULE OF LAW
What role does the rule of law play in solving increasingly challenging future issues? Just in time for the turn of the year, the current issue of the magazine POLITIKUM, in cooperation with the Stiftung Forum Recht, offers exciting impulses from experts in nine articles.
It is about the key problems of the present and the future and the role of law in dealing with them. Does justice remain a utopia in view of the crimes under international law in Ukraine? Can mass migration be controlled in accordance with human rights? To what extent is civil disobedience an engine of the rule of law? And what challenges does the rule of law face as a result of the increasing use of data-based procedures in many areas?
The issue, edited by Prof.'in Dr. Sabine Achour in collaboration with us, takes a look at the interplay between politics, law and the rule of law. The focus is particularly on the role of the rule of law and its opportunities and limitations in the face of growing social challenges. The authors combine perspectives and expertise from the judiciary, research and society and some are also represented on the advisory board of the Stiftung Forum Recht. In a concluding article, Henrike Claussen, founding director of the Stiftung Forum Recht until September 2023, outlines the importance of communicating the rule of law today.
The cooperation between the Stiftung Forum Recht and POLITIKUM makes current issues relating to the rule of law and political education accessible to a broad audience. "At the same time, the topic of the magazine fits in very well with our annual theme 2024, in which we are asking about the future of the rule of law under the motto "In good shape?"," explains Dr. Stephan N. Barthelmess, Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Stiftung Forum Recht.
