Jury-Slam 2024: Preliminary round Leipzig

Would you like to hear what slam poets from Leipzig, Halle, or Jena have to say about the criminal law aspects of *Hansel and Gretel* or about the ban on singing Frank Sinatra’s „My Way“? The preliminary round of the German Law Slam will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Stiftung Forum Recht in Leipzig. At the DAV Law Slam Slammers from across Germany compete with short presentations on legal topics—the audience selects the most creative presentation. Participants are free to choose their own topics, but their performances must have a legal connection. The winners of the preliminary rounds will receive an invitation to the Jura Slam finals in Berlin on November 19, 2024. There, the poets can win prize money of 1,000 euros.

There are two ways to participate:

– Are you ready to slam and would you like to present your piece on stage at the Stiftung Forum Recht? Then sign up now: veranstaltungen.fsjura@uni-leipzig.de.

– Or come to Universitätsstraße 20 in Leipzig on November 13 to attend the event as a spectator and help decide with your vote which slammer will go on to the finals in Berlin—attendance is free and no registration is required!
