„Quite urban!“ A tour of Leipzig

On April 16, 2026, following a winter break, the Forum Recht Foundation will resume its free city tour, „Law in the City! A Tour of Leipzig.“.

So what’s the deal with freedom of assembly? What does the Federal Administrative Court do? And what’s the story behind the „Woyzeck“ case? During this roughly two-hour walk, participants will explore courthouses and other sites of legal historical significance in downtown Leipzig. They’ll learn about fascinating real-life legal cases that demonstrate how closely the law is tied to the lives of many people and where they encounter it in the city.

Follow us on a journey through the history of the rule of law and discover a new side of Leipzig.

Time period: April through October, on the third Thursday of every month,
Special Editions: Thursday, May 21, and Saturday, May 23, 2026, in cooperation with the Foundation for Sites of German Democratic History

Duration: from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each time

Meeting point: The meeting place is in front of the Federal Administrative Court, Simsonplatz 1, 04107 Leipzig. Please look for an orange umbrella!

Accessibility Information: The tour is accessible. The route features lowered curbs for wheelchair users. Participants should be comfortable with a walk of approximately 3.0 km. Please note that we do not offer additional assistance for people with visual or hearing impairments. Headphones are available for about 30 guests, and the tour guide’s voice is amplified with a microphone. You should also expect to encounter numerous sensory stimuli in the urban environment during the tour.
