The Forum Recht Foundation, in cooperation with the State Agency for Political Education in Baden-Württemberg is hosting a panel discussion to mark the 75th anniversary of the Federal Constitutional Court. The Federal Constitutional Court has been the subject of recurring controversy ever since its establishment—whether regarding the process for electing judges, the scope of its rulings, or its proximity to politics. On the other hand, there has been much discussion in recent years about how the Federal Constitutional Court can be better protected. And a recent amendment to the Basic Law has made it more resilient against political attacks.

Discuss these and other topics Thomas Offenloch, Federal Constitutional Court Justice, Prof. Dr. Gabriele Abels, a political scientist and lay judge at the Constitutional Court of the State of Baden-Württemberg, and the attorney Dr. Roya Sangi on stage and with you in the audience. The discussion will be moderated by Christoph Kehlbach hosted by the ARD legal news desk.
