(Not) a Legal Vacuum: Artificial Organs, AI Diagnoses, and Genetic Code in Search of New Rules

Organs printed on a 3D printer, AI-assisted diagnoses, and genetic analyses: What sounded like science fiction just a few years ago is, in some cases, already a reality in medicine. But these new possibilities also raise fundamental legal and ethical questions: Who owns artificially created organs? Who is allowed to access highly sensitive health data? And how do we handle genetic information that may provide insights into our future?

The event on October 9 at the Zukunftsmuseum in Nuremberg will explore these and other fascinating questions. Following an interactive tour of the „Body and Mind“ exhibition, which showcases current innovations and possible future scenarios, the Forum Recht Foundation, in collaboration with the Zukunftsmuseum, invites you to a discussion in the engaging “fishbowl” format. Here, all participants can actively join the conversation: Two experts discuss in the center, while the audience sits around them. Anyone who wants to ask a question, share a thought, or join the discussion can take a seat in the inner circle at any time and become part of the conversation. Moderated by Katharina Gerlach The audience has the opportunity to actively participate in the discussion between Prof. Dr. Henning Rosenau, The holder of the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Medical Law at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and other guests will participate.
