„Let’s Talk About Law“ – The Interactive Discussion Series: Click Your Way to Your Rights! Digital Access to the Law

The guest on the final episode of our interview series before a short summer break is Alisha Andert, an attorney, co-founder, and chairwoman of the board of the Legal Tech Verband Deutschland e.V.

Whether it's a flight cancellation, a train delay, or data theft—for all these situations, there are online portals, chatbots, or other digital tools that help individuals assert their rights. These applications are known as Legal Tech In summary. „Legal tech refers to the digitization and modernization of the legal sector. This term encompasses entirely new, consumer-friendly digital legal services, as well as AI tools designed to speed up court proceedings and software used by law firms and legal departments to work more efficiently,“ explains Alisha Andert, Chairwoman of the Board of the Legal Tech Verband Deutschland e.V.

Digitalization has long since made its way into the legal field. Under the umbrella term “Legal Tech,” a wide range of solutions have been developed over the past few years to digitize the law and legal work. Law firm software, document-creation software, and collaboration tools make legal work easier. Other applications allow individuals to file standardized claims—for example, against companies or landlords—with the click of a mouse. Flight cancellations, train delays, data breaches, rent increases, utility bill audits, appeals against traffic tickets, or help with canceling a subscription—there are digital and automated solutions for all of these. Does Legal Tech hold the promise of making it easier for consumers to assert their rights?

On Wednesday, June 11, is Alisha Andert, attorney, co-founder, and chairwoman of the board of the Legal Tech Verband Deutschland e.V., appeared as a guest on „Let’s talk about Recht“ at the Stiftung Forum Recht. With Marie-Elisabeth Miersch At the Forum Recht Foundation, she discusses how legal tech has changed—and will continue to change—the legal market and access to justice. As a co-founder of „This is Legal Design,“ Andert works with companies to communicate legal information in an accessible way so that clients can understand and assert their rights.
