"Law in Dialogue" Forum: Insights with Cord Brügmann and Christiane Munsberg

Starting in May 2025, the Forum Recht Foundation will host evening discussions several times a year at its locations in Karlsruhe and Leipzig. The events will feature fascinating guests from the legal profession, cultural institutions, and the education sector. In a brief presentation, they will explore the topic together with the foundation’s director Dr Cord Brügmann Each topic is related to the work of the Forum Recht Foundation: ranging from current issues in law and the rule of law to future-oriented topics and developments within the Forum Recht Foundation.

On June 18, the After-Work series kicks off in Leipzig Christiane Munsberg Our guest. She is the former cultural affairs director at Bertelsmann AG; in that role, she helped shape the Leipzig Book Fair for decades and, among other things, developed the literary authors„ forum “Das blaue Sofa„ in collaboration with ZDF, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and 3sat. Today, she curates event series and panel discussions as part of the “Leipzig liest„ reading festival, thereby continuing to actively shape the city’s literary landscape. The discussion will focus on how the Book Fair and “Leipzig liest” have helped revitalize Leipzig as a book fair city since the fall of the Berlin Wall. How has the literary festival brought literature to unusual places and created new avenues of engagement? How do experiences and approaches to literature and its themes emerge that have a lasting impact? And how can literature promote exchange and cohesion and bring a city’s community together? The subsequent discussion will focus on the insights these cultural experiences can offer regarding the themes of law, the rule of law, and the role of the Forum Recht Foundation in Leipzig’s urban society today.

Afterward, there will be an opportunity to chat with each other, the guests, and members of the Forum Recht Foundation team over a drink.
