YOUNG FORUM LAW
Living in a constitutional state - what does that mean for you?
The YOUNG FORUM LAW is a project that we are launching together with young people: Together we want to create a small Exhibition which will be visible to all in the Foundation's premises in Karlsruhe.
Based on your ideas, we will work together to create a digital or analog exhibition contribution, which deals with the question in a creative way: What does it mean to you to live in a constitutional state?
Share your experiences, wishes or questions with us!
We will be happy to work with you to decide how the exhibition should be realized.
For example, you can ...
Shoot short videos
Conduct interviews or
Design objects and posters.
From the further development of the Idea, about the Implementation the exhibition through to the planning of the Openingevent - as co-creators designed you together with us the project!
Questions? The FAQs!
The best way is to send us:
- a short Project concept (short description of the idea of the exhibition project)
- Information on which Materials it needs for the realization of the contribution (e.g. videos, interviews, designed objects, posters...)
- an approximate Cost estimate
- one Profile to you (who and how many are you, your age)
We select up to three projects per year out. It should be a topic that moves you, for which you Attention want to create and that Touchpoints to the right has. As starting points can topicsfields such as Democracy, climate policy, Discrimination, fundamental rights or justice
serve. What role do topics like these play in your life and vice versa, what role do you play? If you have any questions or need support in finding a topic, please get in touch with us - we will be happy to help.
No, of course not! The team of the Stiftung Forum Recht will support you in the development and realization of the project as well as in the planning of the presentation.
Yes, funds are earmarked for the conception and implementation of the JUNGEN FORUM RECHT projects.
The JUNGE FORUM RECHT is aimed at young people throughout Germany. The joint development of the project can take place online or at selected locations (e.g. at school or in a workshop room) - we are happy to come to you. For the presentation at our location in Karlsruhe, we support the travel costs.
The rough timetable depends on the submission of the idea: the working group then has 2-4 months to develop and implement the project together with the foundation. This will be followed by a public presentation in Karlsruhe, where the projects can be presented. Relatives and friends are of course welcome to attend.
What can a project look like?
Instagram storytelling project (2022)
Goethe Gymnasium and Bismarck Gymnasium Karlsruhe
Over the course of several months, the five students from two high schools in Karlsruhe created a series of information for the Instagram channel of the Stiftung Forum Recht foundation on legal topics and issues that affect their everyday lives. From June 13 to 24, 2022, the youth editorial team took over the foundation's channel in the form of a takeover and published six videos and four info posts on the topics of Online hate speech, climate justice, stalking, (boat) refugees and combating terrorism.
Together with the mediation team, the young people considered which topics they would deal with and how they could prepare them.
"My topic [boat refugees, editor's note] is a problem that has been very much out of the public eye in recent years. With this project, I seized the opportunity to revisit the problem in the Mediterranean and remind others of it. Human rights apply equally to everyone."
Xenia
The next step was to research background information. Accompanied by the mediation department, the group explored their topics, conducted interviews with experts such as the Lord Mayor of Karlsruhe Dr. Frank Mentrup, journalist Dr. Wolfgang Janisch or Federal Constitutional Court judge Prof. Dr. Gabriele Britz. In order to successfully prepare the complex content, the young editors received coaching on how to design content for social media.
"I enjoy explaining large amounts of information in a simple way."
Valerie
Vom 13. bis 24. Juni 2022 drehte sich dann auf dem Instagram-Kanal der Stiftung alles um junge Perspektiven auf Recht und Rechtsstaat. Die Videos findet ihr auf Instagram und hier.
On July 26, 2022, the youth editorial team presented their topics and videos to friends, family and the school community. The project group organized a panel discussion on the premises of the Forum Recht foundation and was then available to answer questions at presentation stations.
"It's nice to see that law can be practiced in a variety of ways and not just as an office job."
Meret
And what did our first project group take away with them? It's best if they tell us themselves!
