Symposium: Democracy—A Treasure and an Ongoing Challenge

Democracy is more than a system of rights and freedoms; it is based on citizens„ trust in the common good and in democratic institutions. To keep it alive, we need people who take responsibility and actively shape it. In the face of global challenges such as climate change and online manipulation, it is more important than ever to restore trust in democracy. Places for people to meet and engage in personal dialogue are essential for protecting democracy. The symposium “Democracy—A Treasure and an Ongoing Challenge” addresses these and other topics through a series of engaging presentations.

As part of the symposium, Dr Cord Brügmann, Director of the Forum Recht Foundation, to 12:25 p.m. a presentation on the topic „Access to the Law as a Right to Democratic Participation“ hold. Dr. Brügmann In it, he highlights the importance of access to legal enforcement, which begins long before conflict resolution through the state judicial system. He discusses barriers to access and proposes solutions for overcoming them.
