„Quite Urban!“ A Tour of Leipzig – Special Edition: The History of Democracy
As a special event to mark the 77th anniversary of the Basic Law, the Forum Recht Foundation is offering a city walking tour on Thursday, May 21, at 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m., in cooperation with the Foundation for Sites of German Democratic History . In addition to the usual overview of various aspects of the law, the tour focuses in particular on the history of German democracy and the German constitution.
About the City Walking Tours
So what’s the deal with the right to protest? What does the Federal Administrative Court do? And how does the law relate to our everyday lives?
The free guided tour „Quite Urban! A Walk Through Leipzig,“ organized by the Forum Recht Foundation, answers these and many other questions. Together, we’ll discover Leipzig’s curiosities and the city’s scandals—both big and small—and learn about places related to the law as well as fascinating legal cases.

Special Issues: City Walking Tours: Thursday, May 21, at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in cooperation with the Foundation for Sites of German Democratic History
Regular city walking tours during the following period: April through October, on the third Thursday of every month, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Meeting point: The meeting place is in front of the Federal Administrative Court, Simsonplatz 1, 04107 Leipzig. Please look for an orange umbrella!
Accessibility Information: The tour is accessible. The route features lowered curbs for wheelchair users. Participants should be comfortable with a walk of approximately 3.0 km. Please note that we do not offer additional assistance for people with visual or hearing impairments. Headphones are available for about 30 guests, and the tour guide’s voice is amplified with a microphone. You should also expect to encounter numerous sensory stimuli in the urban environment during the tour.
