How can the justice be made more accessible?
Panel Discussion in Cooperation with the German Bar Association (DAV)

German civil courts are seeing fewer and fewer cases filed. This is according to a report published in April 2023 by the Federal Ministry of Justice (BMJ). But why are people filing fewer and fewer lawsuits? Could the decline in the willingness to file lawsuits be related to access to the legal system—and possibly to a lack of understanding of it? What can attorneys, as intermediaries between those seeking justice and the judicial system, do to facilitate access? What role do structural inequalities and social factors play in the decision to assert one’s rights? Can such obstacles be overcome with the help of digital applications? Do LegalTech solutions create new opportunities where a need for legal advice had previously gone unrecognized?

The Forum Recht Foundation and the German Bar Association will jointly discuss these important issues on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the DAV-Haus in Berlin with:

– Monika Nöhre (former President of the Berlin Court of Appeal and co-author of the BMJ final report)
– Marco Klock (founder of the LegalTech company rightmart)
– Rebecca Richter (DUNKEL RICHTER Law Firm, Berlin) and other guests
