Panel Discussion at the Symposium “Beyond the Museum: Intangible Exhibition and Education.” What Does This Mean for Architecture?
"EXHIBITING AND COMMUNICATING THE INTANGIBLE.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ARCHITECTURE?"
The concept of what cultural institutions and museums are and could be in the 21st century has undergone a massive transformation in recent years. In addition to preservation, collection, and research, the participatory interpretation and exploration of cultural heritage in a public, accessible, and inclusive setting has gained in importance. But what does this mean for architecture?
The public opening discussion for the symposium „Beyond the Museum: Architecture for a New Sense of Community“ explores new building types that foster greater community and participation, methods that incorporate urban space and its users into the development process, and spatial concepts that promote interdisciplinary program development.
How can intangible concepts be made tangible through architecture? And what kinds of spaces are needed to convey the concepts of law and the rule of law, democracy, and human rights?
