As part of the „Long Night of Science“ on Friday, June 23, the GlobeForum, titled „Life in Transition,“ will take place at the Forum Recht Foundation in Leipzig, located at Universitätsstraße 20. Together with its partners—the Research Center Global Dynamics at the University of Leipzig, the City of Leipzig, and the Cyberagentur—the foundation invites you to a discussion about a society in transition.

On the first podium „Brave New World? Living with Artificial Intelligence“ Starting at 6:00 p.m., the discussion will focus on the far-reaching impacts of artificial intelligence on our daily lives and society. Together with researchers from the Cyber Agency and the University of Leipzig, we will explore the opportunities as well as the technological, ethical, and legal challenges associated with this technology. What questions do we need to address to ensure a good life in a future increasingly shaped by AI?
Among others, the following people are discussing this topic:. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Freudenberger (Professor of Communication Systems in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at HTWG Konstanz, and Head of the Key Technologies Division at the Cyber Agency), Prof. Dr. Christian Hummert (Director of Research at the Cyber Agency) and Associate Professor Dr. Martin Potthast (Assistant Professor of Text Mining and Retrieval at the University of Leipzig and Senior Researcher at the Scads.AI AI Center (Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) at TU Dresden and the University of Leipzig). The panel will be moderated by an MDR journalist Marcel Roth.

Admission is free; registration is not required.

Be sure to join us for the second event at our location. „The New ’We"? Life in a Society in Transition After ’89“Starting at 8 p.m.!
