Exposed! Spoken Word Workshops with Jessy James LaFleur (as part of the "Resonanz" Democracy Weekend in Leipzig)
Political decisions and laws affect people’s daily lives. Sometimes the response is one of approval; other times, it is marked by resistance or protest. But how can we help shape the rules that govern how we live together? How can we assert our own rights?
Spoken-word artist Jessy James LaFleur will explore these questions with you and the Forum Recht Foundation in two workshops on September 9 and 10, 2023. Work together with the artist—guided by creative methods and interactive prompts—to craft poetic texts based on ideas for a new way of living together.
No prior knowledge is required for the three-hour workshops.
Spoken word is a literary, performative art form that allows thoughts to be expressed not only on paper but also on stage. Through it, participants discover the magic of the spoken word and the power of their own voices.
The event is free of charge. Since the number of participants is limited, we ask that you register by specifying your preferred workshop date at event[at]stiftung-forum-recht.de
Anyone between the ages of 14 and 35 can participate.
Dates:
Saturday, September 9, 2023 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 10, 2023 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
