The St\u00e4ndehaus in Karlsruhe is celebrating its 200th anniversary! And we'll be there. We're looking forward to this exciting evening on State Parliament of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg<\/strong> and the City of Karlsruhe<\/strong> to be able to participate. What can we learn about our democracy and how to defend it? That\u2019s what we want to discuss. On November 2, at 6:30 p.m., at the St\u00e4ndehaus Memorial.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following opening remarks by Dr. Katrin Dort (City Archives and Historical Museums of Karlsruhe) and Dr. Frank Mentrup (Mayor of Karlsruhe), a keynote address by State Parliament President Muhterem Aras will set the stage for the ensuing debate. Participants in the \u201eJunges Forum Recht\u201d youth project, organized by the Forum Recht Foundation, will ask Muhterem Aras and Dr. Frank Mentrup questions and discuss current issues in democracy and politics with them. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Please register by October 27, 2022, at <\/span>veranstaltungen@landtag-bw.de<\/span><\/a> is requested. The event will also be streamed live on the Youtube channel<\/a> delegated by the state legislature.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will feature artistic performances by the BuschKollegium woodwind trio and slam poet Nektarios Vlachopoulos.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The St\u00e4ndehaus is a central symbol of democracy\u2014not only for Karlsruhe, but for all of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. The St\u00e4ndehaus was the first new parliamentary building constructed on German soil.
