The Leipzig Book Fair\u2019s accompanying program, \u201eLeipzig Reads!,\u201c is making a guest appearance at the Forum Recht Foundation!<\/p>\n

The panel discussion brings together two female authors and two male authors who, in their latest books, examine law, power, and politics from different perspectives. The legal scholar Julia Borggr\u00e4fe<\/strong> shows how an effective government can strengthen trust in the state and democracy, and presents concrete solutions. The author Ilija Trojanow<\/strong>, who in his \u201eBook of Power\u201c retells the seminal work of the \u201eBulgarian Machiavelli,\u201c Stojan Michailowski, reflects on the nature of power and its dangers. The political scientist and well-known political content creator on TikTok and Instagram, Nina Poppel<\/strong>, explains how democracy works, how the Basic Law affects our daily lives, and how political processes shape our rights. The literary scholar J\u00fcrgen Wertheimer<\/strong>, who has studied the figure of Cassandra in depth, analyzes the patterns of \u201eforeseeable disasters,\u201c the power of deliberately ignoring knowledge, and asks whether literature can predict wars. The panel discussion is an event organized by \u201cLeipzig liest,\u201d the reading festival of the Leipzig Book Fair. The discussion will be moderated by Eric Marr<\/strong>, freelance host and journalist.<\/p>\n
