The artists Liudmila Siewerski, Katia Sophia Ditzler, Charlotte Bach, and Marisol Jim\u00e9nez interviewed people in Leipzig about their dreams and ideas regarding democracy, justice, and freedom. The result is the installation\u00a0\u201eFortuna. Futura. Libertas.\u201c<\/b>, which will be displayed on the facade of the G2 Kunsthalle at Innenstadtring\/Dittrichring 13 during the 2024 Leipzig Light Festival. *Fortuna. Futura. Libertas.* is one of a total of 21 projects at the Leipzig Light Festival.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, October 9, 5:00 p.m. <\/strong>We invite you to a sneak preview and artist talk as part of the Leipzig Festival of Lights 2024. Visitors can look forward to a glimpse into the light installation Fortuna. Futura. Libertas.<\/strong>, which will be on display on the facade of the G2 Kunsthalle at Innenstadtring\/Dittrichring 13.<\/p>\n

During the subsequent discussion with the artists, the following will speak: Liudmila Siewerski<\/strong>, Katia Sophia Ditzler<\/strong>, Charlotte Bach<\/strong> and Marisol Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> About their light art project: To develop the installation, they interviewed people in Leipzig about their dreams and visions of democracy, justice, and freedom. These conversations gave rise to the light installation, which is one of a total of 21 artistic projections at this year\u2019s Lichtfest. The art projection is a collaboration between the Forum Recht Foundation and the Leipzig Light Festival.<\/p>\n

According to the Reception and Conversation<\/a><\/strong><\/span> Guests are invited to experience the light installation on-site at the G2 Kunsthalle and then return to Augustusplatz. There, everyone will come together to light the traditional \u201eKerzen-89\u201c to bring the evening to a close. In addition, visitors can view the other 20 light installations that will be on display along the Innenstadtring until midnight.<\/p>\n

Leipzig Festival of Lights 2024<\/b>
\nOn October 9, 1989, more than 70,000 people gathered in Leipzig to demonstrate for freedom and democracy, paving the way for the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification. To mark the 35th anniversary of these events, the Festival of Lights will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, along the route of the original demonstration.
