In cooperation with the Kinemathek Karlsruhe, we\u2019re embarking on a cinematic exploration of the topic Law and Justice: Between Utopia and Reality<\/strong>. Join us and a select group of experts for discussions on climate, punishment, sports, and justice, and discover the highlights of international film culture with us.<\/p>\n

Lothar K\u00f6nig is a one-of-a-kind figure: a longtime youth pastor in Jena, a political activist in the GDR, and, after reunification, a tireless voice warning against the rise of right-wing extremism. But Lothar K\u00f6nig is more than that: In the post-reunification era, he worked to provide guidance to young people during a difficult period of political upheaval and to create safe havens for them. This documentary traces the eventful life of the Jena pastor, challenges stereotypical notions about \u201ethe East\u201c and the era of reunification, and shows that it takes more than shared rules for a society to grow together.<\/p>\n
