The Forum Recht Foundation invites you to a discussion on March 12, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. titled \u201e<\/strong>The Hotbed of Conflict: Tenancy Law\u2014Housing, Rent, and Disputes<\/strong>\u201c one. <\/strong>Our guests are attorney Ruth Z\u00f6ller, executive director of the Karlsruhe Tenants' Association (Mieterverein Karlsruhe e.V.), and attorney G\u00f6tz Pasker, president of the Karlsruhe Bar Association (Karlsruher Anwaltsverein e.V.).<\/strong><\/p>

Karlsruhe, March 4, 2025.<\/strong> In an increasingly tense Housing Market<\/strong> The fear of eviction or rising costs leads many tenants to avoid conflict. Instead, they put up with problematic lease terms because they see themselves as being in a weaker position. At the same time, landlords criticize the fact that the Tenant Protection<\/strong> is constantly expanding, causing them to lose flexibility. Tenant protection laws are meant to mediate between the two sides\u2014but do they really succeed? Who is responsible for ensuring a fair housing market? And how can the interests of tenants and landlords be better reconciled?<\/p>

How do we live?<\/strong><\/p>

On March 12, the audience in Karlsruhe can look forward to the lecture series \u201eLet\u2019s Talk About Recht\u201c <\/strong>Two guests with expertise in rental law: In this debate, they discuss the issue from the tenants' perspective Ruth Z\u00f6ller<\/strong>, a specialist attorney in rental and condominium law and managing director of the Karlsruhe Tenants\u2019 Association (Mieterverein Karlsruhe e.V.), and representing the perspective of landlords G\u00f6tz Pasker<\/strong>, who is also a specialist attorney in rental and condominium law and president of the Karlsruhe Bar Association (Karlsruher Anwaltsverein e.V.). In conversation with Marie-Elisabeth Miersch<\/strong> In collaboration with the Forum Recht Foundation, they examine legal issues surrounding the growing housing shortage, as well as the rights and obligations of both parties.<\/p>

Do we need tougher legislative measures, or more freedom for the market? Is the right to housing enforceable\u2014or is it just an illusion?<\/p>

Since February 2025, the Forum Recht Foundation in Karlsruhe has been hosting a regular series of discussions through the end of the year \u201eLet\u2019s Talk About Recht\u201c <\/strong>. The guests are always Prominent Figures from Various Fields of Law<\/strong>, who talk about their day-to-day work and share their perspectives on a current legal issue. The topics selected for this series of discussions are closely tied to people\u2019s lives and are relevant to everyone: from labor law to tenancy law to freedom of speech.<\/p>
