Democracy and the rule of law - two closely linked things that only really work when people recognize their value and know how they can get involved. Whether on a small or large scale. Across Germany, the September 15<\/strong> every year, Democracy as a lived practice<\/strong> to take center stage. The Forum Recht foundation also participated this year with stimulating offers:

From September 9 to 15<\/strong> we offered in Karlsruhe and Leipzig together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra<\/strong> (gewandhausorchester.de<\/a><\/strong>) and the Triangle Space <\/strong>(triangle.space<\/a><\/strong>) in interactive workshops to practice their own expression.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Denounced! <\/strong>Spoken word workshop with Jessy James LaFleur in Leipzig<\/strong><\/p>

Spoken word, or spoken word poetry, has its origins primarily in the African-American USA of the 1920s, 30s and 60s. As an art form, it allows people to express their own experiences and (political) attitudes and put them up for discussion. For some years now, the German-speaking artist Jessy James LaFleur has been offering workshops in Upper Lusatia alongside her own works, giving young (L)ost Poetas the opportunity to find and express their own position artistically. As part of the Democracy Weekend at the Gewandhaus Leipzig on September 9 and 10, 2023, she offered interested parties the chance to get to know spoken word for themselves and to identify and work on topics that move the participants. Barcamp in Karlsruhe<\/strong><\/p>

Our contribution to the Triangel Space Barcamp in Karlsruhe also combined curiosity and openness with the expression of political opinions. Anyone who now sees tents or bar counters in their mind's eye is wrong. A barcamp is a conference that is spontaneously organized by the participants. Listening, discussing or shaping the program with your own contribution or workshop - all this is possible here. On Friday, 15 September 2023, the Stiftung Forum Recht took part in the barcamp in the Triangel Space with a workshop on the topic of \"Disinformation and polarization trends\". Thomas Stelzl and Felicia Stahnke from our mediation team presented a buzzword that can be used in everyday life to make it easier to identify \"fake news\", i.e. supposed but false news reports. The abbreviation \"PLURV\" stands for \"pseudo-experts\", \"logical errors\", \"unfulfillable expectations\", \"cherry-picking\" and \"conspiracy myths\".<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It was developed by scientists to check the credibility of information. The free formation of opinion and the ability to base this on reliable information - this is not only essential for responsible citizens, but also for their relationship with the rule of law, as Thomas Stelzl explained using current examples.<\/p>
